The Museum Of American Music is a nonprofit effort to educate and to preserve the cultural wealth that Americans have created for over 500 years.

The museum itself is being developed for the display of artifacts and to archive information on the music of America from the time before Europeans arrived and settled up to the present day.

The online portion of the museum will serve as a repository of knowledge and help to distribute information on American music throughout the world using the power and resourses of the Worldwide Internet. A "virtual tour" of the museum and its exhibits will be available online as well as links to similar websites which also provide information on music and the people who created it.
